How to Create a Summer Event Instagram Post Using Shutterstock Create
Here, we’ll look at how you can pull together a super-stylish event invite post for a summer party using online editing app Shutterstock Create, ready for uploading to Instagram.
Even if you’re a Create newbie, it’s super-intuitive and easy to use.
Step 1
Go to Shutterstock Create and choose Instagram Post from the selection of blank canvases at the top of the workspace.
Step 2
Click on Images at the top of the left-hand toolbar, then choose Upload.
Navigate to the folder named PNG versions in your download, and then open the 2000px wide folder. Choose one of the PNG illustrations inside this folder and click Upload.
Click onto the image to drop it onto the canvas.
Repeat the steps above to upload more PNG images, dropping them around the edge of the layout to create a border effect.
Step 3
To change the background of your design, click on Change color under the Edit Element menu on the left-hand toolbar. Choose a color from the selection or use the Color picker tool.
To improve color contrast on your design, you can also adjust the color of the illustrations. In this example, we’ve selected the two olive branch images.
Go to Edit Element > Adjust, and decrease the Temperature to create a contrasting pale blue tone.
Step 4
To add text to your design, click on the Text button at the top-left corner of the workspace. Click on Add text to drop a text frame onto the canvas.
Type in your chosen message, and select a font from the extensive font library to add character to your type. We’ve opted for Old Cupboard.
You can adjust the font color by clicking on Text Color. Use the Color Picker tool to pick up a complementary hue from one of the illustrations.
Add more text frames to your design and adjust the Text Color and font size from the left-hand toolbar.
Step 5
You can also apply effects to your design to give the layout more interest. In this case, we can enhance the vintage style of the design by going to Effects and applying a Film Grain effect, which adds noisier texture to the background.
Step 6
When you’ve finished working on your design, click on the red Download button at the top-right of the workspace. Choose a suitable File type and Quality, before clicking Download again.
You can now upload your image to Instagram. Great job!
