DVD Srinking

Postby kisslover98 » 11 Dec 2009, 02:51

Could you explain to me exactly how shrinking works? I see the percentage pop up when I try to shrink certain movies and I am trying to figure out how low I can go without running into problems with the finished back up. A few movies I have backed were missing parts of the movie when I shrank them. I generally try to keep the quality above 85%, but I am not sure if this is good or not.

Thanks
John

The Shrinking function will only drop down the picture quality, won't cause any part missing. Maybe the DVD you met has a special structure or has new copy protection.
Please first download the latest version of Ideal DVD Copy from http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/download/IdealDVDCopy322.exe and install it.
Then copy the DVD to your PC without shrinking. You may choose "To hard disk..." from the "Destination" dropdown list to select a folder as the target. And when it reminds you to shrink the DVD or not, just click "No".
And then playback the copied DVD to check if the files are OK. If yes, then shrink the copied files on your PC. You may choose "From hard disk..." from the "Source" dropdown list to select the copied DVD as source. And click "yes" when it reminds you to shrink it or not.

Please let me know the result. If there's still any problem, please export all .bup files of the original DVD and send email to our support team.

BTW, usually the shrinking ratio is over 70%, the quality is perfect. If not, you may try to shrink the DVD with main movie mode to get better quality.
