Can I make a region 2 DvD work on Region 1?

I am looking to get a DVD that was only released in Britain, so its a Region 2 format. Is there a way to convert it to work on region 1 players so my DVD player here can use it? Will my computer be able to read it, and then be able to copy it using this software?

Thanks!

To play region 2 dvd on region 1 player, you should convert the dvd to other format, like avi. Because, dvd copy software can't copy Pal DVD to NTSC DVD. Although it can copy all the content, the burned dvd can't be played on your player.

Usually the dvd drive can read dvd of any regions, if your drive isn't special.
Now, please first make sure if your dvd player can play divx avi file, then use our avi converter software to rip this dvd to avi format, then burn it to a blank CD disc to have a try.

You may download avi converter from http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/dvd-to-avi.htm , then refer to http://www.idealdvdcopy.com/convert-dvd-to-divx-avi.htm to learn how to rip dvd to divx avi format.

Do tell me if the above way works, thanks.
